Round The Mountain


On Sunday June 24th 2012 the Kootenay Orienterring Club, Kimberley Trail Society, Kootenay Freewheelers' Cycling Club and GO Kimberley Magazine will host Round the Mountain Festival - Chapter 2. This spectacular annual event showcases Kimberley's beautiful and diverse trail network featuring the recently opened Round the Mountain Trail (RTM).

The Festival attracts hikers, trail runners and mountain bikers participating in several 20 km challenges around North Star Mountain.  Plus, new for 2012, a 10 km trail run and an 8km Junior Duo.  All events start and finish at the Kimberley Nordic Centre.

Kid's races, live music, food and drinks will provide fun and entertainment for everyone. Participate in Kimberley's second Round the Mountain Race (RTM) on the new RTM trail.

Your event last year had the best family atmosphere of all the events I’ve been to since I came to Canada in 2009. And that's the biggest reason for me to come back again this year. It's in my racing calender :-) - Jakub Sumbera, 2011 40k Duo winner
